Eagle Used Auto Parts
American Motors Corporation was formed by the merger of Hudson and Nash. Chrysler bought AMC and replaced its name with Eagle. The name was taken from the AMC Eagle. AMC designed two of Eagle’s first models, the Eagle Premier and Eagle Medallion. The others were rebadged versions sold by Chrysler. The Eagle brands short history suffered from a lack of product recognition. In 1998 the Eagle brand was discontinued. The Eagle oil filter cleans the oil which is pumped through the engine. External oil filters have been provided, in most cars, to keep the engine oil clean. A spin-on oil filter is a common type of external oil filter used. These oil filters are mostly made of metal. They have a paper filter inside which traps dirt in the engine oil. In some cases there is an internal check valve. This valve keeps oil inside the oil filter when the engine is off. At the time of starting this helps the engine get oil faster. An Eagle Vision oil filter comes for about 4.50$. An Eagle Talon oil filter is likewise priced at 4.10$. To hold the engine oil there is an oil pan located at the bottom of the engine. It is generally made of steel or aluminum. It holds about 3-10 quarts of oil to lubricate the engine. The deeper the oil pan the better. It helps to keep a supply of oil ready for the oil pump when the car is accelerating, braking or cornering. There is a need to change the oil pan in case the oil drain plug has been stripped, has dented or has been punctured. An Eagle Talon oil pan costs approximately 122$ while the oil pan gasket comes at a cost of 40$ approximately. Pressure is applied to the brake hydraulic system through the master cylinder. The brake master cylinder is attached to the brake booster. It has a plastic brake fluid reservoir attached to the top of the unit. In case of an internal or external leak one would need to replace the master cylinder. Flush brake fluid completely for optimum performance of the brake master cylinder. To prevent brake failure, now-a-days master cylinders have dual cylinders –primary and secondary. The Eagle Talon brake master cylinder with anti-brake locking system comes for about 58$. The Eagle Vision ESI brake master cylinder without anti-lock braking system comes for as low as 38$. Located on the firewall next to the brake master cylinder is the clutch master cylinder. Its primary function is to transfer the clutch pedal pressure to release the clutch. The clutch master cylinder also has a reservoir that holds the fluid used in the clutch hydraulic system. Always use the clutch hydraulic system whenever you flush the brakes. Be careful of water as it can cause rust in the clutch system thereby making the master cylinder ineffective. Eagle Talon ESI and Eagle Talon TSI Turbo AWD clutch master cylinders come in the range of 50$ to 55$. Numerous online sites provide locating services for used parts. These services are a cost effective and efficient means of obtaining used/ salvaged parts at reasonable prices.
