Porsche Used Auto Parts
The 911 coupe was unveiled to the public in 1963 and offered for sale in 1964 for the first time. Porsche’s 912 eased the transition between the 356 and the 911 from 1965 through 1969. Striking features such as four-wheel disc brakes, four-wheel independent suspension with torsion bars, rack and pinion steering, etc were offered. From 912E to 912 Targas to Racing 912s to 912 Polizei cars to Outlaw 912s to 912 Registry Porsche has seen it all. For the 912 Future Porsche believes there are no old Porsches, only new owners. The power in a Porsche is transferred to the crankshaft by the Porsche pistons and piston rings. The piston ring fits into a groove on the piston. The purpose of the ring is to form a seal between the piston and cylinder wall. Pistons might get damaged because of detonation. If the piston fails by allowing combustion gasses to pass by the Porsche piston rings it may be need to be replaced. Automotive pistons typically have three rings. The top two are for compression sealing and the lower piston ring is for oil control. Use of poor grade fuel can damage the piston and the rings. Under pressure detonation can cause the piston to burn over time. To increase compression and horsepower used Porsche piston and piston rings can be used. In a Porsche Cayenne a piston ring set is approximately priced at 130$ while for Porsches 911-996 it is priced somewhere around 50$. In a Porsche Carrera it is valued at around 150$. Mounted in front of the radiator to take advantage of the cooler air is the Porsche AC condenser. It also uses the air provided by the fan and the forward motion of the car to cool the refrigerant. The highly pressurized ac refrigerant flows into the Porsche condenser. The air rushing through the coils of the ac condenser cools the refrigerant back into cool liquid as it passes the expansion valve. The value of Porsche 911-996 a/c condensers is somewhere around 275$. Porsche Carrera-4 a/c and 2a/c condensers are valued at approximately the same amount. The Porsche clutch disc is circular in shape is located in the clutch assembly and contains a ferrous friction material. Most clutch disc designs are based on one or more friction discs. They are pressed tightly together or against a flywheel using springs from the pressure plate. When the clutch pedal is depressed and the discs are held less tightly and allowed to rotate freely, spring pressure is released. The left-most pedal operates the Porsche clutch using hydraulics or a cable connection from the pedal to the clutch mechanism. A Porsche Carrera-2 clutch disc costs approximately 125$ while the same for a Porsche Carrera-4 clutch disc costs around 135$. For Porsche’s 911-996 clutch discs costs range around 200$. The Porsche thermostats are located on the top of the engine in the outlet going to the radiator. At times they are also mounted at the bottom of the engine near the radiator hose inlet to the engine. The cooling system temperature is maintained by the thermostat. The Porsche thermostat costs around 45$. Numerous online sites provide locating services for used parts. These services are a cost effective and efficient means of obtaining used/ salvaged parts at reasonable prices.
